EiTV smartBox is a launch with innovative features that set it apart from existing digital converters on the market. In addition to tune digital TV broadcast channels in high definition, EiTV smartBox has full support for Brazilian Digital TV System (DTVi) interactivity standard which gives to the users access to various interactive applications delivered by broadcasters.
EiTV smartBox is a hybrid set-top box (ISDB-T and IPTV) suitable for use in OTT, IPTV and Digital Signage solutions.
This product is also intended for developers of Ginga applications compatible with the declarative (Ginga-NCL/Lua) and imperative (Ginga-J / JavaDTV) standards that are specified for the Brazilian Digital TV System (SBTVD).
The product enables developers to run their applications without a real signal being transmitted in a digital TV station. Therefore, the developer can locally test his application, before providing it to be broadcasted by the TV broadcaster.
EITV smartBox is indicated for use in TV stations, companies that develop applications, advertising agencies, universities, R&D institutes and also by any individual or company interested in developing applications for digital TV.
Functions:
The EiTV Middleware implementation used in the EiTV smartBox is based on the implementation of Ginga-NCL declarative paradigm support, the open source code developed by PUC-Rio and available for download at the Brazilian Public Software Portal (www.softwarepublico.gov.br).
